FABRIC COVERED TRAY
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Wooden tray
- 50cm of decorator fabric (we used Tropical Palm Printed Decorator Fabric & Tropical Palm Birds Decorator Fabric)
- Scissors
- PVA glue
- Paint brush
- Pen or pencil
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Lay your fabric face down and place the tray onto the fabric.
Step 2 - Lightly trace and mark on the fabric around the tray with a pen or pencil. Remove the tray and add a 1 or 2 cm seam allowance to the shape you have drawn on the fabric.
Step 3 - Cut out the fabric by using fabric scissors. Ensure to add 1 or 2cm seam allowance when you cut. Snip into each corners to meet the original line you traced.
Step 4 - Fold the seam allowance edges back onto the back side of the fabric. And glue down the edges using paint brush and PVA glue. Leave it to dry.
Step 5 - To finish cover the base of the try with fabric, glue and place the material right side up into the base of tray. Ensure the fabric is pressed down firmly to the base. Leave it to dry. And your tray is ready to use.
