Play dough is suitable for use by anyone over the age of two, as this is the age when they can use it properly and are less likely to eat it - although this will vary from child to child. Slightly younger children should be constantly supervised if playing with playdough to prevent them from eating it.

How to fix dry play dough?

To fix dry play dough, run it under warm water in your sink and massage the dough in your hands as you work the water into it. Continue until it has been totally refreshed. You can also wrap your dry play dough in a damp paper towel, pop it into a zip lock bag and leave it in the fridge overnight.

How to preserve playdough

The best way to preserve your play dough is to always pop it into an air-tight, opaque container when you're finished working with it. You can also wrap it in cling wrap between uses if needed.
