ANNE SHEER CURTAIN WITH POM POMS
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Sheer Continuous Fabrics (to suit window size)
- Bobble Trim x 2 (4 for a pair) x fabric drop (enough trim to run down all sides of the curtain/s)
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine and matching thread
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Fabric & Trim Requirements
Measure the Width and Drop of your Window. Keep in mind that you need extra fabric to allow for the seams on the side of each curtain.
Multiply the Window Width x the desired fullness, for rod pocket curtains it is usually 2.5x the window width (for a pair of curtains this can be cut in half). Plus extra for the side seams.
Step 2 - Ensure sides are straight before proceeding.
Unpick 3cms of the heading from each side (you will need to reconstruct after trim added)
Step 3 - Fold 1cm of sides to wrong side. Pin flat part of trim to wrong side.
Step 4 - Stitch 2 rows down curtain 2mm in from each edge of the flat part of the trim.
Step 5 - Stitch heading back in place to form the pocket for the rod, or use the tape to gather for hooks. Trim all threads.
Note - As it is a corded fabric, remove/cut off the strings at the header after they have been pulled into the desired fullness to avoid the strings being a chocking hazard for children.
