DONUT CUSHION
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 1.5 metres of Duck Stone
- 1 metre of Duck Pink
- 20cm of various duck colours fabric glue
- Hobby Fill 2 kg (depending on how firm you would like the cushion).
- Matching Thread
- Tracing Paper to make Pattern
- Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. To begin, sketch out pattern on tracing paper. You will need to make 2 patterns 1 for the donut itself, the other for the top icing.
Step 2. For donut itself, outside circumference of donut is 60cm edge to edge, inside hole circumference is 20cm.
Step 3. Make second pattern for the icing using an irregular circular shape.
Step 4. For the donut itself, you will need to cut 2 panels of this pattern, one for the front and the other for the back. Please make a hem allowance of 2cm. You will only need to cut 1 panel for the icing as it is only on top.
Step 5. Sew the pink icing on top of one of the stone panels with an embroidery stitch.
Step 6. Sew the 2 stone panels together while inside out, leaving a small hole for filling.
Step 7. Turn the donut the right way around and fill the cushion with hobby fill.
Step 8. Once filled, sew this hole together.
Step 9. Cut up the various duck colours into small strips, and stick on the donut with fabric glue to represent sprinkles.
