LITTLE BOOTIES
Begin at the lower edge and cast on 12 (16) sts.
Note: the first row is wrong side.
First row: P
Next row: *K1, inc in next. Rep from * to end 18 (24) sts. Work 5 rows garter st.
Shape Front
Next row: K6 (8), K2 tog 3 (4) times, K6 (8) 15 (20) sts K 1 row.
Next row: K6 (8), K2 tog twice, K5 (6) 13 (18) sts. Work 1 row garter st.
Next row: K1, *yfwd, K2 tog, rep from * 6 (8) times, K0 (1). Work 3 rows garter st.
Cast off. Loosely oversew seams neatly and thread ribbon through holes.
LITTLE BONNET
Cast on 25 (35) sts. Work 3 rows garter st. Work 10 rows stocking st.
Shape crown
Row 1: *K2 tog K3, rep from * to end 20 (28) sts
Row 2: *P2 P2tog, rep from * to end 15 (21) sts
Row 3: *K2tog K1, rep from * to end 10 (14) sts
Row 4: *P2 tog, rep from * to end 5 (7) sts
Small size only:
Row 5: K2 tog, K2 tog, K1. Break off wool, thread thr
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1.Trace heart outline onto stiff card to use as template.
Step 2.Cut two heart shapes from cotton, felt or polar fleece in white, cream, pale pink or pale blue (please do not use pink and blue on the same heart)
Step 3.Blanket stitch around both shapes using two strands of sewing cotton to match the colour of heart
Step 4.Gently fill with fibrefill as you sew up. Do not fill with cotton wool.
