WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 8m of UV printed outdoor canvas
- 2 x .7m wooden dowel/metal conduit rod
- Sewing thread
- Pins
- Scissors
- Ruler/Tape measure
- Sewing Machine
- Iron
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Cut piece of canvas fabric measuring 75cm wide by 112cm high.
Step 2 - Sew a double hem on both of the long sides by pressing under 1cm then another 1.5cm. Stitch hem in place, press flat.
Step 3 - To make the rod pocket at the top, press under 1cm, then another 5cm. Pin and stitch in place.
Step 4 - Repeat along the bottom edge to make the base rod pocket.
Step 5 - Cut out 15 pieces of fabric, each measuring 32cm wide by 22cm high.
Step 6 - Cut out a 5cm square from the base left and right corners of each of the fabric pieces.
Step 7 - Press under 1cm along the top edges of each fabric pocket piece to make top hem. Top stitch in place.
Step 8 - With right sides facing, open and flatten out the cut out corners and aligning raw cut edges. Sew edges together with a 1cm seam allowance to create a mitered base for each pocket. Repeat on all cut fabric pieces to create 15 pockets.
Step 9 - Turn pockets right way. Press under 1cm along the sides and base raw edge of pockets.
Step 10 - Pin each pocket to the hemmed backing canvas fabric as shown on the diagram.
Step 11 - Top stitch pockets in place along the side and base edges of each pocket, sewing 3mm in from the out edges. Leave the top hemmed edges open.
Step 12 - Insert dowel through pockets at the top and bottom.
