WOVEN BUCKET

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 20cm each x 10 blender fabrics in assorted colours
- Legacy Heavy Duty Fuse Under L-725
- Rotary cutter, mat & quilters rulers
- Sew Easy Quilters Holding Clips or Wonder Clips
- Scissors
- Fabric glue/craft glue
- Iron & ironing board
- Tweezers/crochet hook (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
STRIPS
Step 1.From each of the 10 fabrics cut 1 x 2 1/2" strip (10 strips in total) crosscut each strip into 2 x 21" lengths for a total of 20 strips 2 1/2"x 21" strips, 2 of each colour.
Step 2. From the roll of fuse under cut 2 x 20" lengths. Crosscut each length into 30 x 1/2" wide strips for a total of 60 strips 1/2" x 20"
Step 3. Place a fabric strip on ironing board, wrong side up and centre a 1/2" strip of fuse under down each long side 1/2" in from each end. Using a hot dry iron fuse in place then set aside to cool. Repeat for all 20 fabric strips.
Step 4. Take the first strip, fold in half lengthways and finger press a crease down the centre. Open out and remove the backing paper from one strip of fuse under. Fold lengthways into the centre and fuse in place. Remove backing paper from the other strip of fuse under fold lengthways into the centre and fuse. Repeat for all fabric strips.
Step 5. With fabric strip wrong side up centre a 1/2" strip of fuse under down one long side 1/2" in from each end. Using a hot dry iron fuse in place then set aside to cool. Repeat for all 20 fabric strips.
Step 6. Remove backing paper from the first strip, fold in half lengthways and using a hot dry iron fuse in half. Repeat for all remaining strips - 20 x 1/2" strips. Separate strips into 2 sets of 10 one of each colour in each set.
WEAVING
Step 7. Place one set of 10 strip vertically the other horizontally and weave together to create the base.
Step 8. Pick up one side and from the left number the strips 1-10. Weave strip 5 through strips 6-10 weave strip 4 through strips 6-10 weave strip 3 through strips 6-10 weave strip 2 through strips 6-10 weave strip 1 through strips 6-10. Place a holding clip at the top to hold in place.
Step 9. Repeat step 8 for remaining 3 sides.
Step 10. To connect the sides continue weaving, pulling the strips to tighten. Fold strips over to the inside and use clips to hold in place.
Step 11. Working on one top pair at a time weave ends in on the inside using tweezers or crochet hook to help pull ends through.
Step 12. Put a small amount of glue between the layers along the top edge using clips to hold together until glue is set.
