INSTRUCTIONS

HEXAGON MOTIF (make 9)

Using C1, make a magic ring.

Using 3.50mm hook, 1st round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 11tr into ring, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 12tr.

Break off C1.

Join C2 in any st of previous round, 2nd round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in same st, (2tr tog, 1ch) in each tr to end, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 12 x 2tr clusters.

Break off C2.

Join C3 in any 1ch sp of previous round, 3rd round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 2tr in same 1ch sp, 3tr in each 1ch sp to end, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 12 x 3tr clusters.

Break off C3.

Join M in any sp between 3tr clusters of previous round, 4th round - * (3ch, 1dc) in space between next 3tr cluster, rep from * to end, 3ch, sl st in first sp at beg.

5th round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), (2tr, 2ch, 3tr) in first 3ch sp, * 3tr in next 3ch sp, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) in next 3ch sp, rep from * 4 more times, 3tr in next 3ch sp, sl st in 3rd ch at beg.

Fasten off.

HALF HEXAGON MOTIF (make 6)

Using C1, make a magic ring.

Using 3.50mm hook, 1st row (RS) - 3ch, (counts as 1tr), 6tr in ring.

Break off C1.

With RS facing, join C2 in 3rd ch at beg of previous row, 2nd row - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in same place, 1ch, (2tr tog, 1ch) in each tr to end.

Break off C2.

With RS facing, join C3 in 3rd ch at beg of previous row, 3rd row - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 3tr in each 1ch sp, to end, 1tr in top of last 2tr cluster.

Break off C3.

With RS facing, join M in 3rd ch at beg of previous row, 4th row - 1ch, 1dc in same st, (3ch, 1dc) in sp between each 3tr cluster to end, 3ch, dc in top of last tr ... 5 x 3ch sps.

Break off M, with RS facing, join M again in 1ch at beg previous row, 5th row - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in same st, 3tr in next 3ch sp, * (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) in next 3ch sp, 3tr in next 3ch sp, rep from * once, 2tr in last dc.

Fasten off.

BORDER

Using a flat seam and M, sew motifs tog, following diagram.

Using 3.50mm hook, join M with a sl st in any st along top edge.

1st round - 1ch, work in dc evenly around top edge dec and inc where necessary in The

troughs and peaks to keep work flat, join with a sl st in first dc at beg.

Work a further 6 rounds dc, dec and inc where necessary in troughs and peaks to keep work flat, working in stripes of 3 rows C1, 2 rows C2 and 1 row C3.

Fasten off.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Spray with warm water, lay on a towel and block to measurements. Leave to dry. Sew zip in position on WS of top opening.
