LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Large Cat Panel
- Panel with multiple cat smaller panels
- Large border kitten border fabric with kittens in sleighs and sitting in the moon.
- 50cm plain white fabric
- 75cm panel piecing and binding fabric
- You will need a large piece of backing fabric that is at least 10cm larger on each side of the front quilt size. Once quilted this can be trimmed to size.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Using the large main cat panel cut 6 down to 22 x 41.75 inches.
Step 2 - Cut x 4, 10.5 x 2.5 inches from the binding and piecing fabric.
Step 3 - Cut x 8, 10.5 x 1.75 inches white pieces.
Step 4 - Cut 5 strips of 1.75 inches from the white fabric.
Step 5 - With the smaller panels cut to 10.5 x 11.75 inches. Join the 1.75-inch strip and sew on each side of the large panel and set aside.
Step 6 - With the 4 cut patterned 10.5 x 2.5 inch strip sew the 1.75 x 10.5 white strips to either side.
Step 8 - Join the smaller cat panels together with these pieced pieces.
Step 9 - There should be two of these that measure the same length as the large panel piece for the middle section.
Step 10 - Once the smaller cat panels have all been pieced together sew a 1.75 inch white strip to the outer edge of the smaller cat panels on each side.
Step 11 - Connect all the main cat panels with the two smaller cat panel strips to each side.
Step 12 - Once these are altogether, sew a 1.75 white strips along the top and bottom of the pieced pieces.
Step 13 - Once you have a full white 1.75 inch border around the 4 edges attach the large border to top and bottom and then to each side.
Step 14 - Sandwich and quilt.
