HALLOWEEN QUARTER SQUARE TRIANGLE QUILT

Level: Intermediate
What You'll Need:
- 12 x "25cm x WOF" cuts of different Halloween fabrics
- 0.5m Black Prima
- 1.25m Quilt wadding
- 1.25m Quilt backing (or if using 112cm fabric, you will need 2 1.25m lengths joined at the selvedge)
- 5m Quilt binding
- Prima 1/4inch Ruler
- Prima Square Quilting Ruler Clear 12.5 x 12.5"
- Sewing supplies
Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt.

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Cut out three 8" squares from each of your printed fabrics. You will need 36 squares in total.
Step 2 - From the black prima cut the following:
- 30x 1.5" x 6.5" rectangles
- 5x 1.5" x 42" strips
- 2x 2.5" x 42" strips
- 2x 2.5" x 46" strips (you will need to cut these strips WOF and then create a join in the strip to extend the length to 46")
Step 2 - Pair up each of your squares with a different pattern and place the right sides together. Using the Prima ¼ ruler, mark a line on one side of each pair of squares (you should have 18 pairs)
Step 3 - Sew ¼ inch on each side of the drawn line. Cut on the line. Repeat for all remaining pairs. You should have 36 half-square triangle units.
Step 4 - Repeat steps 2 and 3, using your half-square triangles
Step 5 - Trim your quarter square triangles to measure 6.5" square.
Tip - Line up where the centre of the triangle shapes meet with the 3 ¼ mark on the diagonal of your prima square quilting ruler, cut two sides and then turn the square to repeat for the other side
Step 7 - Lay out your quarter square triangles 6 rows of 6 and move them around until you are pleased with the layout.
Step 8 - For each row, sew one of the 1.5" x 6.5" rectangles between each block. Repeat this for all 6 rows. Press seams towards the black fabric.
Step 9 - Join each row using the 1.5" x 42" prima strips. Press seams towards the black fabric.
Step 10 - Add the two 2.5" x 42" border strips to the left and right of the quilt, then add the last two remaining strips (46" long) to the top and bottom.
Step 11 - Press your quilt top, sandwich and quilt as desired.
Step 13 - Trim the backing and wadding to be square with the quilt top, attach binding to the quilt.
Tip - use your leftover Halloween fabrics to make into binding, Simply cut into 2.5" strips and join together to make one long strip, your binding strip should be 5 m long.
