• Fabric markers

MOTTLED DESIGN

• Pair of white canvas shoes
• Water
• Bottled dye
• Gloves

OMBRE DESIGN

• Pair of white canvas shoes
• Water
• Bottled dye
• Wide paintbrush

INSTRUCTIONS

VINES DESIGN

Step 1 - Practise drawing some vines on paper to get the look you want.

Step 2 - Draw these patterns on with fabric markers. You can cover the whole shoe, or leave some sections blank to make your patterns stand out more. Colour in some of the seams if desired, to delineate between decorated and plain panels.

MOTTLED DESIGN

Step 1 - Wet shoes thoroughly with water.

Step 2 - Using gloves, apply dye in uneven patches, blending the edges of each colour to the next as you go.

Step 3 - Allow to dry. Run under cold tap until water runs clear to ensure any excess dye is removed.

Step 4 - Allow to dry.

OMBRE DESIGN

Step 1 - Wet shoes thoroughly.

Step 2 - Apply dye to the toe of the shoe, and use paintbrush to carefully spread the dye up the length of the shoe.

Step 3 - Darken the toe with more dye for a stronger effect.

Step 4 - Allow to dry.
