WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- '4 Seasons' Pony 4 Ply 2 (3-3-4) x 50g balls 1st Colour (C1-denim), 1 (2-2-3) x 50g balls 2nd Colour (C2-green)
- 1 pair 3.25mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure, 5 (5-6-6) buttons.

TENSION
27 sts and 50 rows to 10cm over patt, using 3.25mm needles.
INSTRUCTIONS
CARDIGAN
BACK
Using 3.25mm needles and C1, cast on 66 (74-78-86) sts.
Beg 2 x 2 Rib - 1st row (RS) - K2, P2, K2, rep from to end.
2nd row - P2, K2, P2, rep from to end.
Rep 1st and 2nd rows until work measures 3cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row and dec 1 (3-1-3) st/s evenly across last row � 65 (71-77-83) sts.
Beg Patt - Do not break off yarn after completing each section of colour, instead carry colour not in use loosely up side of work until required again. When slipping sts, carry yarn loosely across work - do not pull yarn tightly.
Using C1, 1st row (RS) - Knit.
2nd row - Knit.
Using C2, 3rd row - K1, sl 3 with yarn at back of work, K3, rep from to last 4 sts, sl 3 with yarn at back of work, K1.
4th row - K2, sl 1 with yarn at front of work, K5, rep from to last 3 sts, sl 1 with yarn at front of work, K2.
5th row - Knit.
6th row - Knit.
Using C1, 7th row - K4, sl 3 with yarn at back of work, K3, rep from to last st, K1.
8th row - K5, sl 1 with yarn at front of work, K5, rep from to end.
Rows 1 to 8 incl form patt.
Cont in patt until work measures 15 (17-20-21) cm from beg, working last row on WS.
Shape Armholes - Keeping patt correct, cast off 3 (3-3-4) sts at beg of next 2 rows � 59 (65-71-75) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll alt row until 53 (59-65-67) sts rem.
Cont in patt without shaping until armholes measure 11 (12-13-14) cm, working last row on WS.
Shape Shoulders - Cast off 4 (5-6-6) sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 5 (6-6-5) sts at beg of foll 2 rows.
Cast off rem 27 (27-29-33) sts loosely.
LEFT FRONT
Using 3.25mm needles and C1, cast on 39 (39-43-43) sts.
1st row (RS) - K2, P2, K2, rep from to last st, K1.
2nd row - P3, K2, P2, rep from to end.
Rep 1st and 2nd rows until work measures 3cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row and dec 4 (4-2-2) sts evenly across last row � 35 (35-41-41) sts.
Beg Patt - Work in patt as for Back until work measures same as Back to beg of armhole shaping, ending with same patt row on WS.
Shape Armhole and Front Slope - Keeping patt correct, cast off 3 (3-3-4) sts at beg of next row � 32 (32-38-37) sts.
Dec one st at armhole edge in every foll alt row 3 (3-3-4) times, AT SAME TIME dec one st at front edge in every foll alt row 13 (4-10-5) times, then in every foll 4th row until 13 (16-18-17) sts rem.
Cont in patt without shaping until armhole measures same as Back to beg of shoulder shaping, ending with same patt row on WS.
Shape Shoulder - Cast off 4 (5-6-6) sts at beg of next row and foll alt row.
Work 1 row. Cast off rem 5 (6-6-5) sts.
RIGHT FRONT
Using 3.25mm needles and C1, cast on 39 (39-43-43) sts.
1st row (RS) - K3, P2, K2, rep from to end.
2nd row - P2, K2, P2, rep from to last st, P1.

Shape Shoulder - Complete as for Left Front shoulder shaping.
SLEEVES
Using 3.25mm needles and C1, cast on 38 (38-42-42) sts.
Beg 2 x 2 Rib - Work in rib as for lower band of Back until work measures 3cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row and dec 3 (3-1-1) st/s evenly across last row �
35 (35-41-41) sts.
Beg Patt - Work in patt as for Back and working extra sts into patt as they become available, inc one st at each end of 5th row, then in every foll 4th (4th-6th-6th) row until there are 39 (41-47-45) sts, then in every foll 6th (6th-8th-8th) row until there are 47 (53-59-61) sts.
Cont in patt without shaping until work measures approx 13 (17-20-21) cm from beg, ending with same patt row on WS as Back to beg of armhole shaping.
Shape Top - Keeping patt correct, cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows � 43 (49-55-57) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll alt row until 7 (9-11-11) sts rem.
Work 1 row. Cast off.
RIGHT FRONT BAND
Using mattress st seam, join shoulder seams. With RS facing, using 3.25mm needles and C1, knit up 52 (60-70-74) sts evenly along right front edge to beg of front slope shaping, 36 (40-44-48) sts evenly along front slope shaping to shoulder, then 14 (14-16-16) sts evenly across half of cast off sts at back neck � 102 (114-130-138) sts.
Work 7 rows rib as for lower band of Back, beg with a 2nd row.
Cast off loosely in rib.
LEFT FRONT BAND
With RS facing, using 3.25mm needles and C1, knit up 14 (14-16-16) sts evenly across rem half of cast off sts at back neck, 36 (40-44-48) sts evenly along left front slope shaping, then 52 (60-70-74) sts evenly along left front edge � 110 (122-138-146) sts.
Work 3 rows rib as for lower band of Back, beg with a 2nd row.
4th row - Rib to last 54 (62-66-76) sts, cast off 2 sts, rib 10 (12-10-12), cast off 2 sts, rep from to last 4 sts, rib 4.
5th row - Rib 4, turn, cast on 2 sts, turn, rib 10 (12-10-12), turn, cast on 2 sts, turn, rep from 3 (3-4-4) times more, rib to end � 5 (5-6-6) buttonholes in all.
Work 2 rows rib. Cast off loosely in rib.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st seam, join side and Sleeve seams, matching patt. Sew in Sleeves. Using a flat seam, join side edges of front bands tog at centre back neck. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttoholes.
HAT
Using 3.25mm needles and C1, cast on 98 (110) sts.
Beg Rib - Work in rib as for lower band of Back of Cardigan, beg with a 2nd row (RS will be facing when brim is turned back), until work measures 6cm from beg, ending with a 1st row and dec 3 sts evenly across last row � 95 (107) sts.
Beg Patt - Work in patt as for Back of Cardigan until work measures 16 (17) cm from end of rib, working last row on WS. Cast off loosely.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st seam, join side edges tog to form side seam, reversing seam for rib rows at brim. Sew cast off edge tog at top of Hat. Fold brim over onto RS for approx 5cm.
