WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bella Baby' Nippers 1 x 100g ball Main Colour (M) white, 1 x 100g ball 1st Contrast (C1) pink
• Moda Vera' Gelato 1 x 50g ball 2nd Contrast (C2) taupe
• 1 4.50mm crochet hook or size needed for correct tension.
• A stitch marker
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

SIZE

Fits Head (approx): 40-65cm (3-6 Months)

TENSION

11 tr x 7 rows to 10cm over treble fabric, using 4.50mm hook and M.

INSTRUCTIONS

HAT

Beg Main Section -

Using M, make a magic ring. Using 4.50mm hook, 1st round - 3ch, 15tr into ring, join with a sl st in 3rd ch at beg.
2nd round - 3ch, 1tr in next tr, * 2tr in each tr to end, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 29tr.
3rd round - 3ch, * 1tr in each in each of next 4tr, 2tr in next tr, rep from * to last 4tr, 1tr in each of next 3tr, 2tr in last tr, sl st in 3rd ch at beg...35tr.
4th round - 3ch, * 1tr in each of next 5tr, 2tr in next tr, rep from * to last 5tr, 1tr in each of next 4tr, 2tr in last tr, sl st in 3rd ch at beg ... 41tr.
5th round - 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end. Rep 5th round 4 times ... 9 rounds in all. Do not break off yarn.

Beg First Ear Flap -

1st row - 3ch, 1tr in each of next 12tr, turn.
2nd row 3ch, miss next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 10tr, turn
3rd row - 3ch, miss next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 8tr, turn.
4th row - 3ch, miss next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 6tr, turn.
5th row - 3ch, miss next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 4tr, turn.
6th row - 3ch, miss next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 2tr. Fasten off.

Beg Second Ear Flap -

Join M with a sl st in 10th tr from either side of first ear flap. Complete as for first ear flap.

EARS

Using 4.50mm hook and C1, make 10ch.
1st round - 2tr in 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each of next 5ch, 5tr in next ch, work along other side of ch as foll - 1tr in each of next 5ch, 2tr in last ch, sl st in top of 1st tr at beg.
2nd round - Join in M with a sl st in 3rd ch at beg, 3ch, 1tr in each of next 2tr, 2tr in each of next 2tr, 1tr in next tr, 2tr into each of next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 5tr, 2tr in each of next 2tr, 1tr in next tr, 2tr in each of next 2tr, 1tr in each of next 2tr, sl st in 3rd ch at beg. 3rd round - 1ch, 1dc in each tr to end, sl st in 1ch at beg. Fasten off.

EARFLAP STRAPS (make 2)

Using 4.50mm hook and 2 strands of M tog, join yarn with a sl st to centre of first earflap. Make 6ch. Fasten off, leaving a long end. Repeat on 2nd earflap.

EYES

Using C2, make a magic ring. Using 4.50mm hook and C2, 2ch, 10htr into ring, join with a sl st in 2nd ch at beg. Fasten off.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew Ears in position as pictured, Sew Eyes in position as pictured. Using C2 and straight st, embroider nose and mouth as pictured. Using M, make 2 tassels approx 5cm long. Using lone end left on earflap straps, attach a tassel to each earflap strap.
