INSTRUCTIONS

Swaddle Blanket

Step 1 - Cut a piece of flannelette 1m x 1m, fold in half, then in half again so that the four corners are together. To make curved corners, place a round object (like a small plate or bowl) on the fabric at the corner and draw a curved line from one side of the corner to the other. Cut along the line to remove the pointed corners.

Step 2- Using the trimmed piece of flannelette as a stencil, cut a piece of minky dot fabric the same size and shape.

Step 3 - Place the flannel square and the minky square right sides together and pin around the edges. Stitch around all edges, leaving a 20cm opening for turning.

Step 4 - Clip around the curves and turn blanket right side out. Pin opening closed.

Step 5 - Topstitch around the blanket close to the edge to secure.

Swaddle Cloth

Step 1 - Cut a 1m square piece of flannel.

Step 2 - Fold over an 8mm hem on each side and press with a hot iron, carefully tucking in the corners.

Step 3 - Repeat this process, folding over a further 8mm and pressing.

Step 4 - Stitch around the swaddle cloth 6mm from the edge, backstitching to secure the end stitches.

Burp Cloth

Step 1 - Cut a piece of flannelette and a piece of minky dot 30cm x 38cm.

Step 2 - Place the fabrics right sides together and pin around the edges.

Step 3 - Stitch around all edges, leaving a 15cm opening for turning.

Step 4 - Turn burp cloth right side out. Pin opening closed.

Step 5 - Topstitch around the burp cloth close to the edge to secure.
