What can I make with foam balls?

Foam balls are famously used for solar system projects in school, but can also be used to create personalised Christmas baubles, make animal shapes, create hanging garlands and very small polystyrene balls can be used to add texture to slime.

How do I carve a foam ball?

You can carve a craft foam ball into a more complex shape using a hot wire cutter. If you don't have one of these, use a sharp box cutter, precision blade or knife to do the job. Heat the blade slightly using a small flame before cutting to make the process smoother.
