FLANNEL COT SHEET AND THROW SET

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Fitted Sheet
- 6m of 112cm wide printed flannelette fabric
- 2m of 10mm wide elastic
- Scissors, Pins, safety pin,Tape measure/ ruler
- Sewing machine, Sewing thread
- Iron
Mitered Edge Bound Blanket
- 110cm square of printed flannelette fabric
- 95cm square of minky dot fabric
- Scissors, Pins, Tape measure/ruler
- Sewing machine, Sewing thread
- Iron
INSTRUCTIONS
Fitted Sheet
Step 1 - Cut a piece of flannelette measuring 155cm in length by 92cm wide. Cut out a 19cm square from each of the four corners of the cut flannelette. Overlock cut edges.
Step 2 - With right sides facing, align and pin the cut corner edges to making the fitted corner of the sheet. Sew together, press seam open. Repeat for the remaining corners.
Step 3 - Press under 8mm around all of the raw edge of sheet, then press another 1.5cm. Pin and sew casing in place leaving a 5cm gap along one edge.
Step 4 - With help from a safety pin, thread elastic through the opening, around the casing and back out through the same opening. Overlap elastic by 2cm and sew securely together. Machine sew opening closed. Even out gathers along whole casing
Mitered Edge Bound Blanket
Step 1 - From one corner of the flannelette piece, measure & mark 12cm out from the corner in both directions. Rule a line between each mark and cut off the corner.
Press under 15mm along all outer edges of the flannelette.
Step 2 - With right sides facing, align and pin the cut corner edges to making the corner of the binding for the blanket. Sew together, press seam open. Repeat for the remaining corners.
Turn corners out to the right way and press flat, including the pressed under edges.
Step 3 - Right way up, insert the minky fleece fabric, centering to the flannelette fabric. Pin layers together and stitch in place by sewing through all layers, 5mm in from the pressed edges of the binding side of the flannelette. Press flat.
