VALLEY YARN LACEY SCARF
Level: Beginner
What you'll need:
Moda Vera Valley 150 g x 1 ball
1 pair 5 mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
Large crochet hook for fringing
A piece of cardboard 15 cm long
Finished Size
Width (Approx): 18 cm
Length (Approx excluding fringing): 180 cm
Tension
18 sts to 10 cm over patt, using 5 mm needles
Instructions
Note - This garment has been worked on bigger needles and at a different tension than normally recommended.
Scarf
Using 5 mm needles, cast on 34 sts.
Knit 3 rows garter st (1st row is WS).
Beg Patt
1st row (RS) - K3, K1, yfwd, K3tog, yfwd, K3, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K4, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
2nd and every foll alt row - K3, purl to last 3 sts, K3.
3rd row - K3, yfwd, K3tog, yfwd, K5, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K3, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
5th row - K3, K5, yfwd, K3tog, yfwd, K1, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K2, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
7th row - K3, K4, yfwd, K3tog, yfwd, K3, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K1, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
9th row - K3, K3, yfwd, K3tog, yfwd, K5, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
11th row - K3, K2, yfwd, K3tog, yfwd, K1, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K5, rep from to last 3 sts, K3.
12th row - As 2nd row.
Rows 1 to 12 incl form patt.
Cont in patt until work measures approx 179 cm from beg, ending with a 12th row.
Knit 3 rows garter st.
Cast off loosely knitways.
Finishing
DO NOT PRESS. Wind rem yarn around cardboard and cut along one edge. Using 3 strands of yarn for each tassel, fringe evenly along cast-on and cast-off edges. Sew in ends.
