Notes:

• Ch 3 at beg of rnd counts as double crochet (dc).
• Ch 6 at beg of rnds counts as dc and ch-3 sp.
• Join all rnds with slip stitch (sl st) to 3rd ch of ch-6 unless otherwise indicated.

Motif

Make 3.

With Colour 1, ch 4. Join with sl st to first ch to form ring.

1st rnd: (RS). Ch 6. (3 dc. Ch 3) 3 times in ring. 2 dc in ring. Join.

2nd rnd: Sl st in ch-3 sp. Ch 6. 3 dc in same ch-3 sp. Ch 1. (3 dc. Ch 3. 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Rep from twice more. Ch 1. 2 dc in first ch-3 sp. Join.

3rd rnd: Sl st in ch-3 sp. Ch 6. 3 dc in same ch-3 sp. Ch 1. 3 dc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. (3 dc. Ch 3. 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Rep from twice more. Ch 1. 3 dc in last ch-1 sp. Ch 1. 2 dc in first ch-3 sp. Join.

4th and 5th rnds: Sl st in ch-3 sp. Ch 6. 3 dc in same ch-3 sp. (Ch 1. 3 dc) in each ch-1 sp to next ch-3 sp. Ch 1. (3 dc. Ch 3. 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Rep from twice more, then from to once. 2 dc in first ch-3 sp. Join.

Fasten off.

Assembly

Note: To work Tassel and Straps, use yarn as 'self-striping' yarn, allowing colours to change as they appear.

Tassel

Cut a piece of cardboard 12.5 cm wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 30 times, Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops 5 cm below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly.

Hanging Straps and Joining Seam

Ch 48.

Cont working across edge of 2 Motifs to join as follows:

Seaming with Flat Sl St Join: (RS). Sl st 2 Motifs tog, working through back loops only and keeping working yarn to WS of work to create a flat sl st chain detail on RS of work.

Ch 10. Fasten off leaving long tail.

Rep above steps twice more with rem Motifs to create tube of Motifs.

Note: Keep working yarn to WS of work so only flat sl st chain is visible on RS.

Insert 15 cm plant pot into center of tube of Motifs, with ch-10 at bottom of Plant Pot. Tie 3 ch-10 tog in an overhand knot where they meet at center of Plant Pot base. Tie Tassel to ends of ch-10 using long tails.

Bring 3 lengths of ch-48 to meet above Plant Pot so all 3 lengths are pulled tight. Tie tops of ch-48 tog to create hanging loop.

Weave in ends.
