FESTIVE FACE MASK

LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 30cm Jocelyn Proust Christmas Fabric
- 30cm Light Weight Fusible interfacing
- 2 x 18cm pieces of elastic
- Sewing machine and matching thread
- Scissors
- Pins
- Iron and Ironing Board
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Trace around template onto fabric and fusing. You should have 6 pieces in total, 4 from fabric and 2 from interfacing.
Step 2 - Use an iron to fuse the interfacing onto the wrong side of 2 of the fabric pieces. Ensure the shiny side of fusing is facing the wrong side of the fabric as this is what will fuse them together.
Step 3 - Place the fabric pieces right sides facing in and pin in place. Sew together with a 1cm seam allowance along the curved edge.
Step 4 - Snip into the curved seam and then press the seam allowance to one side and top stitch in place. Repeat on other side.
Step 5 - Fold the pleats on each end of the mask, matching the notches and pining in place.
Step 6 - Stitch 5mm in from the ends of the mask and over the pleats to secure.
Step 7 - Place mask pieces together with right sides facing in. Sew along top and bottom edges with a 1cm seam allowance.
Step 8 - Turn mask right side out. Then carefully fold in roughly 1cm at both ends and pin in place.
Step 9 - Cut 2 pieces of elastic 18cm long and position into the seams at both ends of the mask.
Step 10 - Top stitch around the entire mask securing the elastic at both ends to finish!
Your festive mask is now complete.
