INSTRUCTIONS
BEAN BAG
Step 1 - Using plain fabric for the top and bottom of your cushion cut out 2 circles with a diameter of 52cm.
Step 2 - Measure around the circles and add 12cm to your total for a flap.
Step 3 - Using patterned fabric for the side, cut out a piece using your measurement from step 2 as your length around the cushion and a height of 33cm. Hem one of the short ends and fold over 5cm from the end, right sides showing. Press. This flap will provide a hidden opening to stuff the cushion later.
Step 4 - Starting with the flap end and wrong sides together, pin side to bottom going around the circle. Keep pinning around the circle with non-flap end covering the flap. Sew around the circle.
Step 5 - Prepare applique for top using contrasting fabrics. Attach applique to the top piece of cushion with some HeatnBond iron-on adhesive. Once applique is attached to cushion top, satin stitch the outlines and any features to secure.
Step 6 - Pin top to cushion, wrong sides together, as per the bottom in step 4. Sew around the circle.
Step 7 - Turn cushion right side out through opening in the side and stuff firmly with Hobbyfill.
Step 8 - Pin opening closed, and hand sew in place.
