HESSIAN FLOWER HOLDER
Level: Easy
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Hessian fabric by the metre
- Thread to match
- Decorative button
- Fabric Scissors
* The finished size of our Holder is cut from a 32cm x 28cm piece of fabric.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Cut 2 x pieces of hessian 32 x 28cm. (You can adjust this size, based on how large you would like your desired finished holder size).
Step 2 - Based on Figure 1 below, cut an oval shape from your hessian rectangle.
Step 3 - Cut 1 x piece of hessian 4 x 17cm. This will form the loop to hang your holder.
Step 4 - Take both rectangles and place them on top of one another. Hand stitch them together by sewing around the border.
Step 5 - Take the smaller strip of hessian and stitch it in half length ways.*The finished piece should measure around 1 x 17cm.
Step 6 - Stitch this strip to the middle of the Hessian oval as per Figure 2. (Stitch both the top and bottom of the strip so it forms a loop).
Step 7 - Form a cone shape from the hessian oval. Hand stitch the button through both layers of hessian, so the cone shape holds firm.
Step 8 - Your hessian flower holder is now ready to use.
