TASSEL TRIM BELT
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 1m rolls of tassel trim x 2
- Strips of 12cm wide by 1m long of cotton linen fabric x 2
- Sewing thread
- Pins
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine
- Iron
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - With right sides facing, fold and press fabric strips in half aligning long edges.
Step 2 - Open back out and pin trim, right side facing up, to right side of fabric strip, with the top of the trim 3mm below the fold line. Sew trim to fabric. Repeat on with the other strip.
Step 3 - With right sides facing, pin strips together along one of the shorter ends. Sew together with a 1cm seam. Press seam open and trim away any excess trim.
Step 4 - With wrong sides facing, fold strip back in half along pressed line and pin all edges together ensuring that the tassels from trim are not caught up in the pinned seamline. Sew edges together with a 1cm seam allowance leaving an 8cm opening in the middle for turning out.
Step 5 - Clip corners and trim seams. Turn out belt through opening. Press under the opening allowance and machine or hand sew closed. Press belt flat along fold and seam lines.
