AIR CLAY CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Roll out the clay between 2 pieces of baking paper until you have a large piece roughly 5mm thick.

Step 2 - Use the cookie cutter shapes to cut out your different decorations. Put the cut shapes aside on another piece of baking paper.

Step 3 - Re roll out remaining clay and cut more shapes until you have your desired amount.

Step 4 - Once all your shapes are cut and laid out on the baking paper, use a skewer to create small holes to thread yarn through. You will also need a hole at the top of each decoration to hang from.

Step 5 - Leave clay to dry over night or until completely dry and firm. You may want to place some baking paper on top of the decorations and use a magazine or book to keep the clay flat as sometimes the edges may curl upwards while drying.

Step 6 - Once the clay is dry it is now time to decorate them. Using a darning needle, thread yarn or embroidery thread through the holes and tying off in a not on the underside of the decorations. Loop some thread through the top hole for the decoration to hang from to finish. You can also paint the clay with acrylic paint if you wish.

Step 7 - These beautiful handmade decorations are a lovely addition to your tree or used as decorations when wrapping presents.
