TADPOLE BABY BIBS
Level: Intermediate
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Tadpole 50g x 1 ball.
- A pair of 4.00mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
MEASUREMENTS
Width (approx): 22 cm
Length including ties (approx): 30 cm
TENSION
22 sts x 44 rows to 10cm over garter st, using 4.00mm needles.
INSTRUCTIONS
Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 40 sts.
1st row (WS) - Knit.
Knit 14 rows inc one st at each end of next row then in every foll alt row until there are 50 sts.
Beg Main Patt
1st row - Knit.
2nd row - K7, purl to last 7 sts, K7.
Rep last 2 rows until work measures 17 cm from beg, ending with a 2nd patt row.
Knit 14 rows
Divide for Straps
1st row - K18, cast off next 14 sts, knit to end.
Cont on last 18 sts for tie.
2nd row - Knit.
Cont in garter st, dec one st at each end of next row, then in every 4th row until 6 sts rem.
Cont in garter st, without further dec until strap measures 10cm from beg.
Cast off knitways.
With wrong side facing, join yarn to rem 18 sts, knit to end.
Cont in garter st, dec one st at each end of next row, then in every 4th row until 6 sts rem.
Cont in garter st, without further dec until strap measures 10cm from beg.
Cast off knitways.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends.
