DITSY GARDEN TABLE RUNNER

Fabrics are from 'Ditsy Garden' range
- 20cm Fabric A - Floral Stems, blue
- 20cm Fabric B - Mini Daisy, white
- 20cm Fabric C - Mini Daisy, lilac
- 50cm Fabric D - Daisy Vines, blue (includes binding)
- 20cm Fabric E - Ditsy Daisy, red
- 20cm Fabric F - Stem Flower, pink
- 20cm Fabric G - Stem Flower, lilac
- 20cm Fabric H - Ditsy Daisy, blue
- 20cm Fabric I - Packed Floral, yellow
- 20cm Fabric J - Daisy Vines, white
- 20cm Fabric K - Dot Daisy, white
- 30cm Fabric L - Naturals Sunburst, white
- 30cm Fabric M - Naturals Triangles, white
- 30cm Fabric N - Naturals 2 Branch, white

- Rotary cutter, mat & quilters rulers

All fabrics should be 100% cotton, washed & pressed.
¼" seam allowance used throughout unless otherwise indicated.
Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt.

INSTRUCTIONS
Cutting
All strips are cut across the width of the fabric unless otherwise stated.
- From each of Fabrics A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, & K cut 1 x 4 7/8" strip (11 strips in total), crosscut each strip into 6 x 4 7/8" squares for a total of 66 x 4 7/8" squares, then cut each square once on the diagonal to make 132 half-square triangles.
Note - there will be 4 extra half-square triangles. - From each of Fabrics L, M, N & O white homespun cut 2 x 4 7/8" strips, (8 strips in total), crosscut each strip into 8 x 4 7/8" squares for a total of 64 x 4 7/8" squares, then cut each square once on the diagonal to make 128 half-square triangles.
- From Fabric D cut 5 x 2½" strips for binding.
Triangle Units
Step 1 - Take 64 white half-square triangles and 64 coloured half-square triangles. Place right sides together with the coloured triangle on top and the right-angle in the bottom right corner as shown in Diagram 1. Sew together down the straight edge. Open out and press seam towards coloured triangle Diagram 2. This is Unit 1. Repeat to make 64 Unit 1 triangle units.
Step 2 - Take 64 coloured half-square triangles and 64 white half-square triangles. Place right sides together with the white triangle on top and the right-angle in the bottom right corner as shown in Diagram 3. Sew together down the straight edge. Open out and press seam towards white triangle Diagram 4. This is Unit 2. Repeat to make 64 Unit 2 triangle units.
Blocks
Step 3 - To make blocks take one Unit 1 triangle and 1 Unit 2 triangle and place the right sides together matching white with white. The units should lock together as seams are pressed in opposite directions. Sew together along the long diagonal. Open out and press the seam open.
Step 4 - Repeat Step 3 to make a total of 128 blocks.
Rows
Step 5 - Blocks are arranged in 16 rows with 4 blocks in each row to create the design. Rows 1 to 8 are repeated to make the 16 rows. Using the Blocks A, B, C and D as shown below follow the layout the arrange blocks.

Step 6 - Repeat Rows 1 to 8 to complete the 16 rows.
Table Runner
Step 7 - When happy with your layout sew the 4 blocks in each row together matching seams. Press seams in one direction alternating the direction in each row.
Step 8 - Cut the backing fabric in half lengthways. Sew together end to end pressing seam open.
Step 9 - Layer the backing, batting and table runner top and baste together. Quilt as desired.
Step 10 - Join the 5 x 2½" binding strips on the bias to make one long strip. Press in half lengthwise and bind mitering corners.
