INSTRUCTIONS
Assemble all square blocks first. Finishing size being 8.5 inches.
Red Small Square
Create 4 squares by joining cream and red triangles together. Finishing with 4 inch squares.
Sew two squares together by first placing a 4 x 1 1/4 inch strip of cream in between with the red triangles placed in the correct direction of the quilt away from the centre cream strip
Once the four squares have been sewn correctly add the 8.5 x 1 1/4 inch strip in between the two halves creating a 8.5 inch square with all four red triangles pointing out on each corner
Green Small Square Assembly
With the 4 inch cream square place the 3 inch green square (right sides facing) over the cream square neatly lining up to one bottom square of the cream square. With a fabric marker draw a diagonal line across the green fabric and sew along this line. Once sewing using your quarter in ruler cut the excess fabric off and iron the green square over forming a 4 inch square.
Sew two squares together by first placing a 4 x 1 1/4 inch strip of cream in between with the cream and green triangles placed in the correct direction of the quilt with all green squares centred correctly in the middle.
Join the 4 x 1/4 inch x 1 1/4 inch strip each side of the small red 1 1/4 inch square.
Join each half of the green and cream squares together with the middle strip with the red square forming a 8.5 inch square.
Once all squares have been assembled they can then be sewn into strips creating the pattern of the quilt. Lay these out so it can easily be viewed and slowly start adding the 8.5 x 1/ 1/4 inch strips in between each strip of squares. Make sure to line up each of the square blocks by pinning to get the spacing accurate. Once this is all done you can then sew the longer creams 1 1/4 inch strips in between each of the rows of squares.
Once all the squares are assembled and sewn together this will form the majority of the quilt.
Sew a very thin border of the cream 1 1/4 inch strip all the way around the out edge. Press slowly and neatly once complete.
Assemble the out half squares together the same as the inner blocks with the small creams strips in between 4 x 1/4 inch strips
Place these on each edge of the border of the quilt.
Sandwich and Quilt.
