• '4 Seasons' Flinders 8ply Cotton
• MC (dove) x 4, C1 (black) x 1, C2 (off-white) x 1, 50g ball
• A 4.00mm crochet hook or size needed for correct tension
• Scissors
• 1 pair 16mm safety eyes
• 1 x 13mm safety nose
• Marker for marking beg of rounds
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure

TENSION

17 sts x 10 rows to 10cm over tr fabric, using 4.00mm hook.

INSTRUCTIONS

FRONT LEG

Using 4.00mm hook and MC, make 9ch.

Row 1 - Miss 3ch, 1tr in each ch to end 7 sts

Row 2 - 1dc, 1ch in first st, 2tr in next st, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, dec over last 2 sts 7 sts.

Row 3 - 1dc, 1ch in first st, dec over next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 2tr in last st.

Row 4 - 1dc, 1ch in first st, 2tr in next st, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, dec over last 2 sts 7 sts.

Rep last 2 rows once.

Row 7 - 1dc, 1ch in first st, 1tr in each st to last st, 2tr in last st 8 sts.

Row 8 - 1dc, 1ch in first st, 2tr in next st, 1tr in each st to end 9 sts.

Row 9 - 1dc, 1ch in first st, 1tr in each st to last st, 2tr in last st 10 sts.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc in each st to end.

Rep last row 11 times.

Next Row - 1ch, dec over next 2 sts, 1dc in each st to last 2 sts, dec over last 2 sts 20 sts.

Rep last row once 18 sts.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc in each st to end.

Fasten off.

EYES (MAKE 2)

Using 4.00mm hook and C1, make 14ch.

Row 1 - Miss 1ch, 1tr in each st to end 13tr.

Row 2 - Miss first st, sl st in next st, 1tr in each of next 6 sts, dec over next 2 sts, turn.

Row 3 - 1ch, dec over next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, sl st in next st, turn.

Row 4 - Miss first st, sl st in next st, 1tr, dec over next 2 sts.

Fasten off.

CLAWS (MAKE 12)

Using 4.00 hook and C2, make 8ch.

Row 1 - Miss first ch, 1dc in each st to end.

Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc in each st to end.

Sew together lengthways, and then join 3 claws together at one end.

TAIL

Using 4.00mm hook and C1, make 9ch, leaving a long end for sewing to scarf.

Row 1 - Miss first ch, 1dc in each ch to end 8 sts.

Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc in each st to end.

Rep last row twice.

Row 5 - 1ch, dec over next 2 sts, 1dc in each st to last 2 sts, dec over last 2 sts 6 sts.

Rep last row twice 2 sts.

Fasten off.

TO MAKE UP

Using picture as a guide, place safety eyes on the eye pieces and sew eye piece to face, place safety nose on face piece between eye. Using C1 and straight st, embroider mouth, just under nose.

Sew the face piece onto the centre of the head.

Sew head onto the front end of the scarf.

Sew the top section of the tail only in position in centre of scarf, approx. 12cm from bottom.

Sew in all ends.
