MARVEL 12PLY WHERE AM I?
Level: Beginner
What You'll Need:
- 4 Seasons Marvel 12ply 100g Red x 1 ball
- 4 Seasons Marvel 12ply 100g White x 1 ball
- 1 pair 5mm knitting needles (or sizes required to give correct tension)
- Stitch-holders.
- Pom Pom Maker
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
Tension
22 sts x 30 rows to 10cm x 10cm square in stockinette stitch (knit and purl rows alternating)
INSTRUCTIONS
Body of the beanie pattern is worked alternating knit and purl rows to create stockinette stitch. Ribbing is worked alternating knit and purl stitches to create a stretch ribbing band.
Ribbing
Cast on 84 stitches with Red yarn.
1st Row - k2, p2, rep 84 sts.
2nd Row- p2, k2, rep 84 sts.
Continue alternating rows 1 and 2 for 18 rows.
Main Body
Change yarn to white for the main body.
1st Row - P84 sts
2nd Row - K84 sts
Continue alternating rows 1 and 2 for 22 rows. Begin to shape the top of the beanie.
Shaping the Top
1st row - K2tog, k10, k2tog rep 5times. K2tog, k8, k2tog.
Purl next row.
2nd row - K2tog, k9 rep 5 times. K2tog, k6, K2tog
Purl next row.
3rd row -K2tog, k8 rep 5times, K2tog, k4, K2tog
Purl next row.
4 th row- K2tog, k7 rep 5 times, K2tog, k2 K2tog
Purl next row.
5 th row- K2tog, k6 rep 5 times, K2tog K2tog
Purl next row.
6 th row - K2tog, k5 rep 5 times, K2tog
Purl next row.
7 th row - K2tog, k4 rep 4 times. K2tog, k3, K2tog
Purl next row.
8 th row - K2tog, k3rep 4 times. K2tog k1, K2tog
Purl next row.
9 th row - K2tog, k2 rep 4 times, K1,k2tog
Purl next row.
10 th row - K2tog k1 rep 4 times, K2tog
Purl next row.
11 th row - K2tog 5 times, k1
Cast off.
Continue alternating rows 1 and 2 for 22 rows. Begin to shape the top of the beanie.
Scarf
Cast on 20 stitches in red.
1 st row- K20sts.
2 nd row- K20sts.
Rep row 1 and 2 for 10 rows, change colour to white. Repeat till you have a total of 19 colour changes. Scarf should begin with Red yarn and end with red yarn. For a longer scarf, continue to alternate colour changes till desired length is reached. Ensure that the last colour knitted is always red to match the start of the scarf.
Cast off and weave in ends.
