INSTRUCTIONS

BASE

Using 5mm hook and M and C1, make 66ch.

1st row (RS) - 1tr in 10th ch from hook, 3ch, miss 3ch, 1tr in next ch, rep from to end, turn.

2nd row - 5ch (counts as 1tr, 2ch), 1dc in 2nd ch of 3ch sp, 2ch, 1tr in next tr, 2ch, rep from to end, ending with 2ch, miss 1ch, 1dc in next ch, 2ch, miss 1ch, 1tr in next ch, turn.

3rd row - 6ch (counts as 1tr, 3ch), 1tr in next tr, 3ch, rep from to last tr, 1tr in last tr, turn. 2nd and 3rd rows form patt. Cont in patt until work measures approx 32cm from beg, ending with a 3rd row, turn.

BEG HANGING LOOPS

Next row - 12ch, sl st in next tr, rep from to end. Fasten off.

LARGE STAR (MAKE 5)

Using 3.50mm hook and C, make 4ch. Join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.

1st round - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 2tr in ring, 2ch, 3tr in ring, rep from 3 times, 2ch, join with a sl st in 3rd ch at beg.

2nd round - 6ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1htr in 3rd ch, 1tr in 4th ch, 1dtr in each of 5th and 6th ch, sl st in next 2ch sp, rep from 4 more times. Fasten off.

SMALL STAR (MAKE 5)

Using 3.50mm hook and C, make 3ch.

1st round - 1dc, in 3rd ch from hook, 1ch, (2dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1ch) 4 times, sl st in 2nd ch at beg.

2nd round - 4ch, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1htr in 3rd ch, 1tr in 4th ch, sl st in 1ch sp, rep from 4 more times. Fasten off.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Spray base and stars with warm water and block out to shape. Leave until dry. Sew stars securely to base as pictured. Thread a rod through the hanging loops.
