HALLOWEEN CANDIES AND BAG

INSTRUCTIONS

Candy Bag (beg at base - the bag is worked in rounds)

Using 4mm hook and C1, make 26ch.

1st row (RS) - 3ch, 1dc in 3^rd ch from the end. 1dc in each ch to end (24dc), 5dc in last ch, 1dc in bl of each ch to end, 4dc in last ch. Sl in last ch of first dc (58dc).

2nd row - 1ch, 1dc in each dc working around the bag base (58dc).

Repeat 2^nd row for 14 rows.

Note: Example works - 7 purple rows, 4 orange rows, 3 green rows and then the handle is worked using black. Create your own preferred colourway and quantities.

Creating Handles

1st row - Using C21, sc in each dc to end (58sc)

2nd row- Ch1, sc in next 5sts, ch16. Insert hook in 16^th sc from the last sc made in the last row (creates handle opening). Sc in the next 10ch, ch16, insert hook in 16^th sc from the last sc made in the last row (creates handle opening), 10sc.

3rd row - SC in each ch around the bag (58sc), sl into last ch.

Repeat last row 3 more times. Tie off and weave in ends.

Candy Treats

Using size 4mm needles, cast on ... 48 (25) sts.

1st Row - K48sts, turn.

2nd Row - P48 sts, turn.

Repeat rows 1-2 working 34 (25) rows.

Cast off.

Creating the side gathers

Using a needle, join the first and last row together to form a tube.

To create candy gathered sides take another length of yarn and thread through the needle. Count from the edge of the knit towards the centre of candy 12 (8) sts across and weave needle in and out down the rows. Pull the ends of weaving yarn together and tie, this will create your first side gather. Weave in the ends.

Repeat this process on the other open end of the candy ensuring you tightly stuff the tube with hobby fill before closing off the end.

Optional - Take another length of yarn and create faces or decorations on your candies.
