ANGEL (beg at top of head)
Note -For a neat finish when changing colour, use new colour to work final lp of last st in old colour.
Using 3.50mm hook and flesh make 4ch, join with a sl st in first ch to make a ring.
Rnd 1: 1ch, 7dc in ring, do not join with a sl st. Head is worked in a spiral as folls -
Rnd 2: (2dc in next dc) 7 times.
Rnd 3: (1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc) 7 times.
Rnd 4:(1dc in each of next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc) 7 times.
Rnd 5: (1dc in each of next 3 dc, 2dc in next dc) 7 times... 35 dc. Work 8 rounds without shaping.

BASE
Using 3.50mm hook and fawn make 4ch, join with a sl st in first ch to make a ring.
Rnd 1: 1ch, 8dc in ring, do not join with a sl st. Base is worked in a spiral as folls
Rnd 2: (2dc in next dc) 8 times.
Rnd 3: (1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc) 8 times.
Rnd 4:(1dc in each of next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc) 8 times. Cont inc in this manner until Base measures 8cm across, sl st in next 2 dc. Fasten off.
ARMS (make 2 alike, beg at hand)
Using 3.50mm hook and flesh make 2ch.
Rnd 1: Miss 1ch, 8dc in next ch, do not turn, do not join with a sl st, but work in a spiral as folls -
Rnd 2:(1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc) 4 times...12 dc.
Rnd 3: 1dc in each of next 12 dc. Rep 3rd round once. Cut off flesh, leaving a 20cm long tail (leave this end hanging on outside of arm). Change to white.
Rep 3rd round until arm is 6cm long, sl st in each of next 2 dc.Fasten off, leaving a 20cm long tail for attaching arm.
WINGS (make 2 pieces alike)
Using 3.50mm hook and fawn make 29ch.
Row 1: Sk 3 ch, 1tr in each of next 12 ch, 3tr in next ch, 1tr in each ch to end ... 29 tr, counting 3-ch as 1 tr.
Row 2: 3ch, 2tr in first tr, (sk 2 tr, 3tr in next tr) 4 times, sk 1 tr, 3tr in next tr, sk 1 tr, (3tr in next tr, sk 2 tr) 4 times, 3tr in top of t-ch.
Row 3: 3ch, 2tr in first tr, sk 2 tr, 3tr in sp before next tr, (sk 3 tr, 3tr in sp before next tr) 4 times, sk 1 tr, 3tr in next tr, sk 1 tr, 3tr in sp before next tr, (sk 3 tr, 3tr in sp before next tr) 4 times, sk 2 tr, 3tr in top of t-ch.

HALO
Using 3.50mm hook and fawn make 27ch, sl st in first ch to make a ring (take care not to twist ch).
Rnd 1: 1ch, 2dc in same st as sl st, * 1dc in each of next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc, rep from * to last 2 ch, 1dc in each of next 2 dc, sl st in first dc. Work 1 round of Crab St, sl st in first st. Fasten off.
TO MAKE UP
Add filling to head and body (make neck quite firm). Using a flat seam, sew base in position. Fill hands and lower half of arms only. Use end of flesh colour to gather at top of hands (as illustrated), fasten off securely. Oversew upper edge of arms together, then sew arms in position at shoulders, then catch underside of arms to body. Trace shape of wings onto template plastic and cut out 5mm smaller along all edges. With wrong sides of wings together oversew all edges, inserting template plastic before completing final edge. Attach to back of angel. Cut 60cm lengths of brown for hair. Make a fringe around face as follows - fold double strands in half then using crochet hook, draw loop through a stitch at edge of the face (fringe line defines face shape), pull ends through loop and pull firmly to tighten. Repeat around edge of face. Make another row of fringe behind first row. Pull hair to back of head and using a length of brown tie in a pony tail. Using a doubled length of fawn, bind hair decoratively as shown.Trim hair neatly. Sew halo in position. Using black and straight stitch, embroider mouth and eyes (as shown).
