WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• 4 Seasons Flinders 8ply Cotton 50g x 1 ball MC, 2 balls CC.
• A set of 4.00mm knitting needles or size needed for correct tension.
Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure

Size 2-4 to fit head cm 51-52

Size 6-8 to fit head cm 53-54

TENSION

21 sts x 29 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

HAT

Using a set of 4.00mm needles and MC, cast on 104 (112) sts.

1st Round - * K2, P2, rep from * to end.

Rep last round 4 times.

Change to CC, rep 1st round 4 times.

Change to MC, knit 4 rounds.

Change to CC, knit 4 rounds.

Last 8 rounds form strip patt.

Cont in stripe patt until work measures 14 (16) cm from beg.

SHAPE TOP

1st Round * K6, K2tog, rep from * to end...91 (98) sts. Knit 2 rounds.

4th Round - * K5, K2tog, rep from * to end...78 (84) sts. Knit 2 rounds.

7th Round - * K4, K2tog, rep from * to end...65 (70) sts. Knit 1 round.

11th Round - * K2, K2tog, rep from * to end� 39 (42) sts. Knit 1 round.

13th Round - * K1, K2tog, rep from * to end� 26 (28) sts. Knit 1 round.

15th Round - * K2tog, rep from * to end �13 (14) sts.

16th Round - K1 (0) * K2tog, rep from * to end...7 sts. Break off yarn, thread end through rem 7 sts, draw up and fasten off securely.

ANTENNAS (make 2)

Using a set of 4mm needles and MC, cast on 4 sts.

1st round - Knit. Rep last round 10 times.

Next round - Inc in each st to end...8 sts. Knit 2 rounds.

Next round - * K2tog to end...4 sts. Break off yarn, thread end through rem 4 sts, draw up and fasten off securely.

TO MAKE UP

DO NOT PRESS. Attach antennas to top of hat as pictured. Sew in all ends. Fold brim of hat to right side.
