BRIGHTON FOLDING CLUTCH
Level: Easy
What you'll need:
- '4 Seasons' Brighton Cotton Blend Melange 8 ply 50g: 2 x Colour 1 (C1), 2 x Colour 2 (C2)
- 4mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure

Width (approx) 27.5cm
Height (approx) 40cm unfolded
Tension
Correct tension is not essential for this project.
Note - Clutch is worked in rounds from the bottom. The work is turned at the beginning of every round to keep the side 'seam' straight.
Instructions:
CLUTCH
Using 4mm hook and C1, make a 51ch.
1st round -Miss 1ch, 1htr in next ch and each ch to last ch, 2htr in last ch, rotate to work up opposite side of ch, 1htr in next ch and each ch to end, sl st into htr at beg ... 100 sts.
2nd round - 1ch (does not count as a st throughout), turn, 1htr in same st and each st around, sl st into htr at beg.
Rep 2nd round until bag measures approx. 21cm, ending with a WS round.
Break off C1.
Using C2, rep 2nd round until bag measures approx. 35cm, ending with a WS round.
Next round - 1ch, turn, 1htr in same st and each of next 12 sts, 24ch, miss next 24 sts, 1htr in each of next 26 sts, 24ch, miss next 24 sts, 1htr in last 13 sts, sl st into htr at beg.
Next round - 1ch, turn, 1htr in same st and each st and ch around, sl st into htr at beg.
Rep 2nd round until bag measures approx. 40cm, ending with a WS round.
Last round - 1ch, turn, sl st in same st and every st around, sl st into sl st at beg.
Fasten off.
Using C2, sl st evenly around handle openings.
FINISHING
DO NOT PRESS. Sew in ends.
