INSTRUCTIONS

BACK

Using 5.50mm hook and M, make 66 (72-80-86) ch.

Foundation row - 1tr in 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end, turn ... 64 (70-78-84) tr.

1st row - 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in each tr to end, turn.

1st row forms treble fabric when repeated.

Cont in treble fabric, until work measure 52 (53-54- 55-56) cm from beg. Fasten off.

Beg Edging - Using 5.50mm hook, join C with a sl st in lower right-hand corner.

1st round - 1ch, 3dc in same place as sl st (corner), taking care to keep work flat, work in dc evenly along right side edge to top right-hand corner, work 3dc in corner, work in dc evenly along top edge to next corner, work 3dc in next corner, work in dc evenly along left side edge to last corner, work 3dc in corner, then work in dc evenly along lower edge to end, sl st in first dc at beg. Fasten off.

LEFT AND RIGHT FRONTS

Using 5.50mm hook and M, make 34 (37-41-44) ch.

Foundation row - 1tr in 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end, turn ... 32 (35-39-42) tr. Complete as for Back.

SLEEVES (make 4 pieces - 2 for each sleeve) Using 5.50mm hook and M, make 18 (19-19-20) ch.

Foundation row - 1tr in 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end, turn ... 16 (17-17-18) tr.

Work 3 rows treble fabric ... 4 rows tr in all.

5th row - 3ch, 2tr in next tr, 1tr in each tr to end, turn ... 17 (18-18-19) tr.

6th row - 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end, turn.

Rep 5th and 6th rows 4 (6-8-10) times ... 21 (24-26-29) tr.

Sizes S, M and L only - Work 2 rows treble fabric.

Next row - 3ch, 2tr in next tr, 1tr in each tr to end, turn ... 22 (25-27) tr.

Next row - 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end.

Size S and M only - Rep last 4 rows 2 (1) time/s ... 24 (26) tr.

All sizes ... 24 (26-27-29) tr.

Cont in treble fabric without shaping until work measures 43cm from beg. Fasten off.

Beg Edging - Complete as for Back edging.

Join Centre of Sleeves - Holding straight edges of 2 sleeve pieces tog, and using 5.50mm hook, join C with a sl st through both thicknesses at lower edge.

1st row - 1ch, work 1dc through both dc's of each sleeve piece to top edge. Fasten off. Rep on second sleeve.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Tie a coloured thread on either side of centre 28 (30-30-32) sts on top edge of Back to mark shoulders. Tie a coloured thread between 18th and 19th (20th and 21st-24th and 25th-26th and 27th) sts from side edge along top of Fronts to mark shoulders. Using 5.50mm hook, join C in first sts through both thicknesses of Left Front and Back at top of left side edge. Working through both thickness, work 1dc through both dc's of each piece to coloured thread. Fasten off. Join right shoulder in same manner. Tie a coloured thread 21 (22-23-24) cm down from shoulders on side edges of Back and Fronts to mark armhole openings. Using 5.50mm hook and C, join sleeves evenly between coloured threads, placing centre of sleeves to shoulder seams and working through both thicknesses in dc as for shoulder seams. Using 5.50mm hook and C, join side and sleeve seams, working through both thicknesses in dc (as before). Using 5.50mm hook and C and beg at left side seam, work in dc evenly around all edges, taking care to keep work flat and working 3dc in top and bottom corners on Fronts, sl st in first dc at beg. Using 5.50mm hook and C, work 1 round dc evenly around lower edges of Sleeves, sl st in first dc at beg. Sew in ends.
