FELT ENVELOPES
Level: Easy
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Felt sheets
- Pencil and Card for template
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Embroidery Thread
- Pinking Shears
- Fabric Glue
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Create your template on a piece of card or paper to the below envelope shape. It will be 2 rectangles = 10cm high x 20cm wide and a triangle on top that is 5cm high x 20cm wide.
- Triangle 5cm x 20cm
- Rectangle 10cm x 20cm
- Rectangle 10cm x 20cm
Step 2 - Trace around this shape onto your felt sheet. Cut out with scissors or pinking shears for a decorative edge.
Step 3 - Use contrast felt sheets to create stamps or other decorations you wish to stick on your envelope.
Step 4 - Fold the felt envelop in half and use either embroidery thread or fabric glue to secure the edges of your envelope together.
Step 5 - Carefully use the scissors to cut a small slit into the centre of the felt on the back side of your envelope so you can fold the felt over and close the envelope shut.
Step 6 - Repeat this process to create multiple envelopes and send your loved ones and friends' letters.
