SANTA WINE BOTTLE HOLDER
EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 60cm of Red Check Lurex
- 10cm black Prima
- Green glitter fat flat
- Jolly & Joy Christmas Buttons 'Sew Fun'
- Needle + Thread + Pins
- Pinking Shears/Dressmaker scissors
- 50cm gold ribbon
- Sewing machine
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - From your red check lurex, cut a 24x34cm rectangle and a circle 11cm in diameter.
Step 2 - From your green glitter fat flat, cut 2x strips measuring 10x34cm.
Step 3 - Using a 1cm seam allowance, sew your red rectangle and green glitter strip together along their long edges.
Step 4 - From your black Prima, cut a 10x34cm strip. Fold in half along the short and sew. Turn your long tube inside out and flatten. Lay your black band across the red section in the position of a belt and sew down along both long edges.
Step 5 - Fold in half (pattern to the inside), lining up the seams between the red and green and black band, and sew together, creating a large tube.
Step 6 - Place your circle at the bottom end (red end) of your large tube (pattern to the inside) and pin around the edges before you sew together with a 1cm seam allowance.
Step 7 - Now you can turn your bottle bag inside out.
Step 8 - Position your 5 buttons and hand sew onto your bottle bag in a neat line.
Step 9 - Repeat steps 1 - 6 for the lining (you do not need to sew the black band on in Step 4 as you won't see it) Now you will have 2 individual bottle shapes. Snip into the seam allowance of the circle shape at the bottom of both bags to give that seam
a neat finish when turned through.
Step 10 - Turn the outside bottle bag (with the black band) right side out. Using pinking shears, trim the top edge (open end) of your bottle bag and lining.
Step 11 - You can now place the lining inside the bottle bag. Push the base together so they sit inside each other neatly. Use a sewing needle and thread to secure the 2 layers together through the bottom
circular seam and the seam line at the top connecting the red and green fabrics.
Step 12 - To finish, tie bow around the bottle bag and bottle neck.
