Instructions

Large Bauble

Using C1

Leave a 30 cm tail and cast on 17 sts.

1st Row (RS) - Knit

2nd Row - Purl

3rd Row - k1, (kfb) x 15, k1 (32sts)

4th Row and every even row - Purl

5th Row - Knit

7th Row - k1, (kfb, k1) x15, k1 (47sts)

9th Row - Knit

11th Row - k1, (kfb k2 )15x, k1 (62sts)

Continue straight in stocking stitch until work measures 11cm from beg ending on a purl row.

Next Row - k1, (k2tog k2), x15, k1 (47sts)

Next Row - Purl

Next Row - Knit

Next Row - Purl

Next Row - k1 (k2tog, k1) x15, k1 (32sts)

Next Row - Purl

Next Row - Knit

Next Row - Purl

Next Row - k1, (k2tog) x15, k1 (17sts)

Cut yarn leaving a 30 cm tail, using a wool needle, thread through all sts and pull tight.


Finishing

Using a wool needle, thread through cast on sts and pull tight.

Wrap knitted piece around ø10cm deco foam ball and start embroidering while back seam is still open. Cut a double strand of C3 and embroider as desired. Embroider a second layer as before to enhance appearance. Secure ends.

Using tail at cast on, sew a piece of ribbon and bells to bottom end of bauble and continue to sew up back seam.

Using tail at the top of bauble, sew a piece of ribbon in place. Sew in all ends.
