60 MINUTE - NURSERY SHEET & PILLOWCASE SET

What you'll need:
- Gutermann Cotton Sewing thread
- Sewing machine, Overlocker
- Scissors, Pins, Iron, Tape measure/ruler
Pillowcase:
- Cotton Flannelette - A piece measuring 58 cm wide by 32 cm high (Front)
- Cotton Flannelette - A piece measuring 43 cm wide by 32 cm high (Back)
Sheet:
- Cotton Flannelette 108/112cm x 1.25 m
Finished Size
This pillowcase will fit a cot-size pillow 30 x 40 cm.
If you do not have a cot-sized pillow, you can trim down a 40 cm square pillow by 10 cm or adjust size of pillowcase to suit.
Instructions
Pillowcase
- Sew a double hem along one of the shorter ends of each of the flannelette pieces by pressing under 1 cm then another 1 cm and sewing in place.
- With the right side facing up, place front piece down with the hemmed edge to the right. Place back piece on top of the front, right side facing down, aligning raw side edges to the left, with hemmed edge to the right.
- Fold the excess front piece on the right, back over on top of the back piece with the hemmed edge of back snuggly fitted within the fold. Pin the raw left, top and base edges together through all layers and stitch in place with a 1 cm seam allowance. Overlock seams.
- Fold the front folded flap back out and press flat. Turn pillowcase right way out and press.
Sheet
- Trim away the selvedge edges from the fabric.
- Sew a double hem along the longer side edges of the flannelette piece by pressing under 1 cm then another 1 cm and sewing in place. Press.
- Sew a double hem along the shorter top & base edges of the flannelette piece by pressing under 1 cm then another 1 cm and sewing in place. Press.
