Creating the board
Step 1 - Place the frame on the backing and trace it with a pencil.
Step 2 - Remove the frame, and draw another line around the inside of the one you just drew, 10mm from the original line. Cut out with saw.
Step 3 - Sand the rough edges of the cut backing.
Step 4 - Paint the backing with the black acrylic paint.
Step 5 - Paint the frame with the white acrylic paint. You may need to do multiple coats to get a solid white colour.
Step 6 - Once backing is dry, paint with chalkboard top coat. Follow the directions on the top coat instructions for best application.
Step 7 - Run a bead of PVA glue around the edge of the backing.
Step 8 - Place frame on top of backing painted side up.
Step 9 - Wipe any excess glue off with a damp rag and leave glue to dry.
Decorating the board
Step 1 - Cut vines to desired length to sit around the frame using side cutters.
Step 2 - Arrange vines on the frame and hot glue into position. Position the succulents in the empty spaces and hot glue in place.
Hanging the board
Step 1 - Measure 2/3 out each side from the centre of the back and mark.
Step 2 - Cut rope to desired hanging length plus extra for each edge.
Step 3 - Fray each end of the rope and hot glue on the markings made in the step above.
Step 4 - Once glue is dry, hang to finish!
