For additional peace of mind when shopping at Spotlight, our VIP customers now have the option to purchase a one-year or two-year Extended Warranty on sewing machines bought instore and online. HOW TO PURCHASE SPOTLIGHT'S EXTENDED WARRANTY
Extended Warranty is currently available to purchase in-store and online. To purchase Spotlight’s Extended Warranty, you must:
- Purchase any sewing, overlocker, quilting or embroidery machine.
- Purchase the extended warranty in-store.
- Be a VIP member.
- Scan your VIP card at the checkout

Who is giving the Extended Warranty?
This extended warranty is provided by Spotlight Pty Ltd, Level 6, 111 Cecil Street, South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 3205.
What is covered?
The Extended Warranty offers the same remedies for the same faults outlined in the manufacturer’s standard warranty at the time of purchase. This does not include change of mind. Any exclusions to the manufacturer’s standard warranty are also excluded from Spotlight’s Extended Warranty.
When does Spotlight’s Extended Warranty apply?
The extended must be purchased from Spotlight at the same time you purchase the sewing machine. Spotlight’s Extended Warranty will commence upon the expiry of the manufacturer’s standard warranty. Spotlight’s Extended Warranty does not apply where the sewing machine is still covered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty.
Who can claim under Spotlight’s Extended Warranty?
The Extended Warranty is limited to the original purchaser of the extended warranty.
How to make a claim?
To make a claim under Spotlight’s Extended Warranty, the sewing machine must be returned to a Spotlight store together with proof of purchase. Any costs in incurred in returning the sewing machine to a Spotlight store are to be borne by the person making the claim.

WARRANTIES AND THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
The benefits provided to you by a manufacturer’s warranty and this Extended Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the ACL. All goods that we supply come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) known as ‘consumer guarantees’. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The consumer guarantees include that goods will be of acceptable quality and fit for known purposes (e.g. safe, durable, have no faults, look acceptable and do all the things someone would normally expect them to do). The consumer guarantees apply regardless of the manufacturer’s warranty but whether a consumer is entitled to a remedy for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee will depend on the circumstances. Consumer guarantees have no set time limit but generally last for an amount of time that is reasonable to expect in the circumstances, given factors including the cost and quality of the goods, the use made of the goods and any representation made by the supplier or manufacturer. The exact amount of time that consumer guarantees last in the case of a specific purchase varies depending on the circumstances.
