RAFFIA LAMPSHADE
Level: Easy
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 1 x FIBRA NATURA Raffia 35g (we used Natural)
- 16mm wide Double Sided Tape.
- Ready made Lampshade
- Scissors
Tip - Flatten Raffia as you go, preparing too much tends to twist and compresses again.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Peel off about 15cms of the Paper to reveal the outer sticky side on the top and bottom to get started. This can be peeled more as you go.
Step 2 - Carefully flatten a metre of Raffia, leave small folds and creases for a rustic effect.
Step 3 - Wrap around the lampshade, using the double sided tape to keep in place and hold, overlap about 6-7 mms to cover the shade fabric.
Step 4 - Continue around the whole shade, add a little more double sided tape to overlap the start.
FINISHING
Trim last end and ensure secure with tape.
Optional - an additional lining can be added to keep the inside neat, for example, calico attached with fabric glue.
