PANNE VELVET & FUR CUTLERY HOLDERS

Level: Intermediate
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 0.5m-1m of panne velvet in red (length dependent on how many cutlery holders are required)
- 1x pack of pre-cut fur in whispy white
- Fusible interfacing (same length as panne)
- Paper
- Pen/Pencil
- Pins
- Iron and Ironing board
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Lay out the cutlery you'll be using on Christmas day on a piece of paper. Trace a stocking shape around it. Add a 1cm seam allowance around each stocking. Cut out- this is your pattern.
Step 2 - Fold panne velvet right sides together. Cut pairs of the stocking shape out. You'll need a pair for each place setting.
Step 3 - Do the same for the interfacing and iron to the wrong side of each stocking piece.
Step 4 - With the right sides together sew around the edge of the stocking pairs, leaving the top open.
Step 5 - Snip notches around the curves of the stockings. Turn right side out and press.
Step 6 - Measure the width of the opening of the stocking.
Step 7 - To create the fur trim patten measure out a rectangle on a piece of paper.
Step 8 - With right sides together straight stitch the short ends of the fur together, creating a tube.
Step 9 - Turn out fur tube matching up long edges to create a cuff.
Step 10 - Pin cuff to inside of stocking opening stitch around the top.
Step 11 - Turn over fur cuff to right side this should create a clean edge.
Step 12 - You're done! Add to your table setting and enjoy!
