INSTRUCTIONS
SANTA HAT PILLOW
Step 1 - Create your templates by drawing the below shapes onto card. Then add a 1cm seam allowance around each shape.
Step 2 - Trace around your templates onto your fleece fabrics. You will need 2 x each template for the front and back of your cushion.
Step 3 - Pin the white cuff to the base of the red hat piece, and sew along the edge with a 1cm seam allowance. Repeat for the other panels. Set aside.
Step 4 - Pin the 2 circle pieces right sides together and sew around the edge with a 1cm seam allowance. Leave a 2cm gap and fill with hobby fill till your pom pom shape is formed.
Step 5 - Place the pieces from Step 3 together, again with right sides facing in and lining up the white cuffs. Sandwich the white pom pom in between the red pieces at the top and pin in place.
Step 6 - Sew around the entire cushion, ensuring you catch the pom pom in the 1cm seam allowance. Leave a gap of about 5cm to fill the cushion with hobby fill. Once sewn snip into the seam allowance in the corners and along the curved edges for a smoother finish. Turn cushion right side out through the gap and fill with hobby fill. To finish hand sew shut using a sewing needing and thread.
CHRISTMAS TREE CUSHION
Step 1 - Create your templates by drawing the below shapes onto card. Then add a 1cm seam allowance around each shape.
Step 2 - Trace around your templates onto your fleece and felt fabrics. You will need 2 x each template for the front and back of your cushion.
Step 3 - Pin the yellow star to the top of each tree piece, sew along the edge with a 1cm seam allowance. Repeat for the other side.
Step 4 - Place the 2 pieces together with right sides facing in and lining up the yellow stars.
Step 6 - Sew around the entire cushion and leave a gap of about 5cm to fill the cushion with hobby fill. Once sewn snip into the seam allowance in the corners and along the curved edges for a smoother finish. Turn cushion right side out through the gap and fill with hobby fill. Then hand sew shut using a sewing needing and thread.
Step 7 - To finish cut out circle shapes of felt to create baubles for your tree. Secure onto cushion by gluing with the hot glue gun or sewing on by hand. If sewing by hand do this step before filling with hobby fill.
