Muslin is ultra-lightweight, which means it can be very sheer.
Always ensure you are purchasing the correct fabric weight for your project.
If sheerness is not desired, we recommend lining garments with self-fabric or another light cotton fabric such as muslin, lawn or voile.

Pre-wash, dry and flatten prior to sewing, as the fabric can be distorted easily.
Muslin tears easily but is durable.
A starch spray may be beneficial when cutting.
Seam slippage may occur, so interfacing is recommended for stability if being used to make a garment.
Use a 60/8 - 80/12 sharps needle depending on the fabric weight.
An all purpose thread is ideal.
Use sharp scissors or a rotary cutter and mat when cutting.
Use pins when sewing.
