Instructions
Before starting this project, gather all the inspiration for your wall hanging. Use your inspiration to help explore personal taste, mood, preference and style to match your home.
Painted design
Step 1 - Once you have design in mind, it's time to create canvas your wall hanging. To do this, begin at the middle of your wood round and start gluing macrame cord outward. Keep gluing until you cover the whole surface.
Step 2 - After the surface covered, you can start adding your design with acrylic paint.
Tip - Take special care when using glue gun. You can use all-purpose glue such as UHU or Elmer's as alternative. You can pre-draw your design using pencil before painting the design and use different colour cord to make different colour line.
Fringe design
Step 1 - Once you have design in mind, it's time to create canvas your wall hanging. To do this, begin at the middle of your wood round and start gluing macrame cord outward. Keep gluing until outwards, leave approximately 1cm.
Step 2 - cut cord length size to fit outer side of the round mdf.
Step 3 - cut cords to make lark head knot/cow hitch knot along the previous cord.
Step 4 - glue finished cord to the outer edge of the mdf board.
Step 5 - once secured, find a sturdy surface and start brushing the end of the cord with stiff brush. Trim the edge with sharp scissors.
Step 6 - finish by adding desired design with acrylic paints.
