LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Coloured card or paper
- Scissors/Fiskars Guillotine
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Double sided tape or stapler
- Hot glue gun
- Gem or beads optional
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Cut a 12cm x 20cm square piece out of the paper or card.
Step 2 - Start making small accordion folds along the long edge. You can measure each fold if you want to be precise.
Step 3 - Once your paper is folded use a stapler to staple in the centre of the folds to hold in place. As displayed in the project sheet.
Step 4 - Fan out the paper folds to create your lantern shape and use hot glue or double sided tape to join the paper in the centre where they meet.
Step 5 - Use a pencil to draw the flame shape onto card and cut out using scissors.
Step 6 - Use the hot glue gun to attach the flame shape onto the top of the lantern (on top of where the staple is).
Step 7 - To finish decorate your lantern with gems or beads and attach using the hot glue gun! You can recreate these lanterns to any size you would like!
