FELT CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
LEVEL: EASY
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Felt 3mm sheet
- Folly Bells 12mm Asst 1pk
- True Bells 10mm Gold 1pk
- Embroidery thread
- Leather cord (Crafters Choice 2mm x 10m flat)
- Decoration template
- Pins
- Fabric scissors (for cutting felt)
- Paper scissors (for cutting templates)
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Cut out templates.
Step 2 - Pin templates onto felt and cut the shapes.
Step 3 - Using embroidery thread stitch around the edges of each shape we used blanket stitch, over stitch and chain stitch.
Step 4 - Decorate with bells/beads threaded through the leather cord and tied to the shape see images.
Step 5 - Attach to your tree or attach to the Bell garland (see below for instructions on the Bell garland) Tip: use split rings or tree hook to hang on tree.
NB - If you would like to make padded ornaments, substitute the 3mm sheet felt for 2 sheets of standard felt. Cut 2 of each shape, stitch leaving an opening to stuff with toy stuffing once done complete sewing the gap, continue as above with decorations and hanging additions.
